Stage 4 Restrictions– An Important Message to Our Customers

We hope you are finding ways to stay positive during this challenging time.

We have made some changes to our business to comply with the Victorian Government’s current directives for business under Stage 4 restrictions.

Our inspectors are adhering to all physical distancing requirements, wearing face masks and using hand sanitiser.  Each inspector will have the necessary work permit and understands the company’s Covid-19 Safety Plan.

Our Sales and Customer service team are currently working remotely but are still available to answer enquiries about current jobs and to schedule inspections for when the current lockdown ends.

We’ve put together some answers to questions you may currently have.

Are you still conducting inspections during lockdown?

For areas in Stage 4 restrictions, we can continue to carry out the following:

• New home construction inspections – please call us to discuss your individual circumstances and how we can assist
• Owner builder inspections which form part of a Section 32 or settlement obligations where the agreement was made prior to 11:59pm, Wednesday 5 August, 2020.
• Building and Pest inspections where the agreement/contract was made prior to 11:59pm, Wednesday 5 August, 2020 
• Please note: Section 32 or contracts of sale signed during the Stage 4 restrictions must include provisions for delivery of each clause beyond 13 September 2020 and cannot be actioned during the restriction period.
• Contract review for off-the-plan properties (no site visit)
• Tax depreciation schedules for off-the-plan properties (no site visit)

For Central Victoria and Geelong (currently in Stage 3 restrictions), we can carry out:

• Pre-purchase house inspections as normal
• Stage inspections for new home builds as normal
• Special purpose building inspections as normal
• Owner builder defect report (137b) inspections as normal
• Tax depreciation schedules as normal
• Contract review as normal
• VCAT reports as normal

I live in a Stage 4 area and need a different type of inspection – can I book ahead for when the lockdown is over?

Yes. We will take your booking details and your inspector will call when inspections resume, to confirm a date and time for the inspection. We expect demand to be high so book now if you can, to secure your inspection.

Do I need to pay for an advance booking now?

No – we will only take payment once your booking has been confirmed, post-lockdown.
